A number of League One teams are interested in Charlton Athletics 23-year-old Premier League star
Conor Coventry, a West Ham player, is desired by multiple League One teams, according to Darren Witcoop.
Coventry is a central midfield player, age 23. He has spent time on loan at Rotherham United, MK Dons,
Peterborough United, and Lincoln City as far in his career.
He has made four Premier League 2 appearances for West Ham’s academy team thus far this season, contributing
one assist and one goal. It was revealed yesterday that Charlton Athletic was interested in the midfield player, and it
appears they are not the only team. According to Witcoop, Coventry has a lot of fans in League One, but a deal might
not be reached until at least next week.
A worthy addition
This month, Charlton Athletic is going to need reinforcements, and it appears that they are the only team that has made a formal offer for Coventry.
It’s difficult to forecast where the 23-year-old will wind up this month, though, because the other sides are unknown.
This might be West Ham’s last chance to earn a little cash on their player because his contract with the Hammers
expires in the summer, but as of right now, no firm offers seem to have been made.
Currently ranked 14th in the third division, Charlton Athletic appears destined for a mid-table result at most this
year. Coventry would help them and he would probably play regularly for the Addicks, but it’s unclear if he would be
amenable to the transfer once more.
If Coventry plays in West Ham’s FA Cup match against Bristol City this weekend, it will be intriguing to see; if so, it
will be an ideal opportunity for him to showcase his skills.
