Rivera Shares His Expectations for the Cowboys vs. Clash
The season from hell for the Washington Commanders is almost done. With a seven-game losing run and a record of
4-12, the Dallas Cowboys represent their final opponent before the season is out. There is still a lot riding on the
Cowboys, as Mike McCarthy’s squad is currently vying for the No. 2 spot as a result of the Philadelphia Eagles’
surrender to the Arizona Cardinals. This is the Commanders’ chance to spoil the fun, and head coach Ron Rivera
anticipates his team to be primed for success in the season finale even though it is a pointless game.
We have one more home game against a team of professionals, according to Rivera. The guys, I believe, are aware of
that and just count on them to show up and complete their tasks. The Commanders suffered a 45-10 loss to the
Cowboys in Week 12, but Sunday’s game will be remembered for Sam Howell’s 26-6 victory over Dallas at FedEx
Field in the final game of the previous season.
After a turbulent week in which he was benched in favor of Jacobs Brissett, Howell has had an inconsistent season. A
few days later, however, he was appointed the starter because of Brissett hamstring injury. Howell demonstrated
potential once more in the game against the NFC top club, the San Francisco 49ers. Regarding Howell, Rivera
remarked, “I think he’s taken the kind of step that you need early on that just shows he’s got the growth going
forward.” “I think he has the potential to be a very, very excellent player in this league. He still needs to improve on a
few things, of course, but we can do better and support him too.
