One of the campaign’s biggest surprises to date has been Unai Emery’s team. They are tied for second place in the

table with league leaders Liverpool going into Sunday. This season presents a chance to accomplish something

exceptional. Therefore, it shouldn’t come as a huge surprise if the Villans attempt to push the envelope in the

upcoming weeks.

Timo Werner is of interest to Aston Villa

Additionally, Timo Werner is one among the players Aston Villa is keeping an eye on, per a Daily Mail story.

Werner seems like a viable target for Villa. He is, of course, no stranger to the Premier League, having signed a £45

million contract to join Chelsea in the past. Werner and a transfer to West Ham have also been mentioned.

Regretfully, neither side was satisfied with his tenure at Stamford Bridge. In 89 games across all competitions for the

Blues, he finished with 23 goals and 21 assists before returning to RB Leipzig.

Since his comeback, the 27-year-old has scored 11 goals in the Bundesliga. In all competitions, he also scores a goal

every three games on average. It’s interesting to note that this season, he has barely appeared. Werner has just twice

in the top flight stayed on the field for more than an hour. Nor has he spent ninety minutes.

Leipzig might therefore be receptive to Werner offers in the January transfer window. And given his time at Chelsea,

he might welcome the chance to return to England and make a statement, especially if Villa makes an appearance.

With his work at Villa Park, Emery has quieted a lot of people. Perhaps he’s prepared to give Werner the opportunity

to do the same.
