FRISCO – La’el Collins never considered talent to be important. When it came to the Dallas Cowboys, professionalism was ultimately what mattered.

Throughout the mid-to-late 2010s, he helped “America’s Team” become one of the greatest offensive lines in the NFL by starting 71 of the 74 games he played in. He also showed position flex.

However, as he faced disagreements inside the NFL’s substance abuse programme and difficulties related to his fitness, the Cowboys grew weary of some of his behavioural issues. Collins then inked a $21 million three-year contract with the Bengals following his release by Dallas in 2022. He had a strong start to the season there, starting 15 games at tackle, but a ruptured ACL and MCL late in the year sidelined him.
