After Celtic’s 2-1 victory against their city rivals, Brendan Rodgers reminded his supporters that he has already overcome five Rangers managers in his five years as Celtic manager.

He claimed that if Celtic had believed the hype around the Ibrox squad, they would be in “constant fear” of the Rangers.

With two games remaining, Philippe Clement’s Rangers team, coming off a 16-game unbeaten streak, was hoping to cut the deficit to just two points against the champions.

However, Rodgers claimed he had heard the phrase “Rangers coming” for his squad numerous times previously, which helped him maintain perspective before such an important game.

“I have worked with five Rangers managers in my two stints here, and every time the Rangers were coming,” Rodgers stated.

“Each and every time, eventually.

Thus, it’s usual for me. If I followed the press and media, we would always be in a state of emergency and terrified of the Rangers. Now, though, it’s the sixth manager.
