It was understandable to get concerned about Everton’s Premier League standing following their 10-point deduction. But under Sean Dyche,

the Toffees have improved greatly since then, and if they keep up their current success,

they should be able to avoid the drop for still another season. Given how close things are,

Goodison Park fans may even benefit from rising into mid-table and higher this time, making up for their deduction.

They would be sitting in 10th place, ahead of Chelsea, if not for those 10 points.

The Merseyside club may want to add players once the January transfer window opens in order to guarantee that they have even more success in the second half of the season.

They might have to focus on departures first, though, as rumours have it that one player may be on his way to the exit.

News about Everton transfers

Despite their financial struggles, Everton was still able to add players during the summer transfer window. Before giving Dyche a boost,

people like Ashley Young, Beto, and Jack Harrison all participated in the hopes of achieving just that. Arnaut Danjuma,

on the other hand, has not been able to establish himself at Goodison Park and may now be headed out.

In the January transfer window, Lyon is reportedly considering a bid to capture Everton loanee Danjuma, according to Foot Mercato.

The Villarreal forward is on the list of players in dire need of reinforcements for the Ligue 1 team,

which is locked in an unexpected relegation battle this season.

If the agreement is less than €15 million (£13 million), they are rumoured to be considering a loan move with a buyout option.

If the deal is more expensive than that, they may choose to proceed with a straightforward six-month loan arrangement.

In any case, it appears Everton may be without their forward come next month.

Danjuma is still getting used to Everton.

Danjuma has only scored twice in 15 games for Everton, so his stats don’t exactly make for pleasant reading. Dominic Calvert-Lewin is currently injury-free as well,

so a transfer away might be in everyone’s best interests as the forward is unlikely to figure heavily in Dyche’s plans anytime soon.

The Dutchman is definitely someone to watch when the January window opens in a few days.

“Yeah, he’s an exceptional player, in a really good place at the minute, Arnie,” remarked former Middlesbrough manager Jonathan Woodgate,

who received high appreciation for the player when he was at his best.

He’s another player that I’ve worked closely with at his past clubs,

so I was well-versed in him going into this position and knew what kind of player he was.

“I am aware that he struggled to earn playing time and didn’t really have much of an impact in the Premier League the previous season,

but he has excelled this year. I’m limited to discussing his accomplishments during my leadership,

but he’s currently playing fantastic football and contributing to the club.”
