Confirmed Villa XI Vs Burnley: Important two changes from Emery
In the Premier League on Saturday afternoon, Aston Villa takes on Burnley. This is Unai Emery’s starting lineup for
the match.
After a dismal week that saw a tie with Sheffield United and a loss at Manchester United, Villa will be eager to
bounce back, and maybe 2023 will finish well.
Due to suspension, Boubacar Kamara is still out, while Lucas Digne, who suffered a hamstring strain against Old
Trafford, was added to the list of injured players in midweek. Tyrone Mings, Emiliano Buendia, Robin Olsen, and
Bertrand Traore are the other long-term absences.
However, Emery makes two changes to his starting lineup: Moussa Diaby rejoins the team in lieu of Leander
Dendoncker, while Alex Moreno replaces Digne at left-back.
John McGinn will then return to his starting position in central midfield, where we should have more balance and
control to manage possession and tempo.
Pau Torres is still healthy enough to start just on the bench, and Matty Cash, who served his one-match suspension
in midweek, is surprisingly left off the roster.
It seems odd to have left him out completely; maybe he has an injury that prevents him from playing in this match.
Despite this, Emery has assembled as strong a Villa lineup as he can have, and with any luck, the players will respond
favorably and he will devise the best strategy to help us resume our winning ways and maintain our position in the
top five of the Premier League.
