Brown’s sustaining ‘scary’ concussion in win over Jets
Elijah Moore, a wide receiver for the Cleveland Browns, was hospitalized overnight on Thursday night following a concussion he sustained,
during the team’s playoff-clinching victory over the New York Jets.
Moore sustained injuries when a tackle, following a 22-yard gain, knocked his head face-mask first into the turf.
Moore had a touchdown reception in the second quarter.
Moore, 23, looked to have been knocked out, and while he lay on the ground,
his body started to jitter uncontrollably after he flipped onto his back.
Eventually, team members assisted Moore in standing up and brought him to the sideline medical tent.
After that, he was brought to the locker room for assessment and care.
Coach Kevin Stefanski of the Browns stated on Friday that Moore is “doing better.”
Stefanski remarked, “He’s home,” without giving further information. “Those are frightful all the time.”
Moore was traded from the Jets to the Browns in March, and he is currently in his debut season with the team.
After quarterback Joe Flacco’s 8-yard touchdown pass to him, Cleveland led 27–7.
In New York, Moore and Flacco were teammates as well.
Cleveland’s wide receiver depth was further reduced by Moore’s absence,
since Amari Cooper missed the team’s 265-yard performance against Houston due to a heel injury.
