Browns: David Njoku’s message after win vs. Jets will have fans making Super Bowl plans
After defeating the New York Jets on Thursday, the Cleveland Browns have been guaranteed a spot in the playoffs.
Although qualifying for the playoffs is important to the Browns, tight end David Njoku said after the game that the club “isn’t done yet.”
With regard to securing a postseason spot, Njoku stated, “It means everything with all the adversity we’ve faced.
” We haven’t finished yet. According to Network 216’s Nick Karns,
“This is a great start, but we’ve got a lot more to prove.” He continued.
Njoku had six catches for 134 receiving yards during the Browns’ game on Thursday.
The 27-year-old has played in 16 games this season, totaling 882 receiving yards and six touchdowns.
Cleveland’s struggle through hardship
Although the Browns’ 11-5 record appears impressive on the surface, everyone who has watched the club all season long is aware of the difficulties Cleveland faced to get to this point.
The club has been beset by injuries all season long, with starting quarterback Deshaun Watson’s season-ending shoulder fracture occurring in November.
Safety Grant Delpit, defensive end Ogbo Okoronkwo, and running back Nick Chubb are among the other players sidelined for an extended period of time.
Many other well-known players on their squad are also struggling with minor injuries, which exacerbates the situation.
The players who were called upon to replace the injured have answered the call and have helped the club to victory despite this setback.
And the Browns demonstrated what perseverance is all about in their most recent game.
The Browns shut out the Jets with a first-half offensive clinic led by Joe Flacco and David Njoku.
Despite their wounds, Cleveland is proving to everyone what the phrase “next man up” actually means.
