Jaylen Brown expresses his disapproval of Udonis Haslem’s remarks regarding Bill Russell’s retirement from the Celtics.

Following his death, Russell’s No. 6 jersey was retired at every NBA stadium. Among the league’s most gifted athletes and social justice advocates was the former big man for the Celtics. Udonis Haslem, though, did not enjoy having his shirt retired at the Kaseya Centre.

Haslem disregarded Russell’s name and expressed disapproval of a Boston Celtics jersey hanging in the Miami rafters during a pre-game address to Heat players. Haslem’s remarks grabbed attention, now Jaylen Brown is joining the conversation after admiring a tweet criticising Haslem:

Haslem undoubtedly didn’t mean to offend Bill Russell. It seemed like he was trying to motivate his teammates before of a big game. Nevertheless, the remarks made by the former Heat forward were deemed inappropriate by Jaylen Brown and others. Brown will, however, cease his outstanding play for Boston.

On a game-by-game basis, the 27-year-old averages 22.6 points, 4.9 rebounds, 3.6 assists, and 1.1 steals. His outstanding two-way play has contributed to Boston’s NBA record being among the best. In addition, Brown wants to keep getting better in order to keep playing at an All-NBA level.

Given the current situation, the Celtics’ next game against the Miami Heat is going to be intense.
