Kenny Miller says he anticipates Rangers and Celtic monitoring Owen Beck, the full-back for Liverpool.

Tony Docherty, the manager, made a great acquisition in July when the 21-year-old went on a season-long loan to Dundee.

Beck, who has made 19 appearances to date, is making every effort to gain a foothold in Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool plans going forward.

Given the current left-back injury crisis at Anfield,

that might happen sooner rather than later,

so it wouldn’t be shocking to see Beck called up again.

Rangers could make a pre-contract move in January if they were interested,

given his Liverpool deal expires at the end of the current campaign.

Rangers need to improve at left-back, and Beck might be a long-term solution.

On Boxing Day, Miller expressed similar sentiments on BBC Sportsound,

expressing his excitement for Beck’s Dundee performance against Celtic.

The former Rangers striker went on to say that because of Beck’s “outstanding” 2023–24 season thus far,

the Gers should consider him as a possible transfer target.

Kenny Miller raises his voice Beck Owen

“I think Tony Docherty has been quite brave when you look at some of his team selections,” stated Kenny Miller.

They have aggressive players Lyall Cameron and Luke McCowan in their midfield.

I genuinely think McCowan is great.

He has, in my opinion, been their best performer thus far during the season

“Their team has goals; Bakayoko scored one at Ibrox the other week, and he was scoring goals at the beginning of the season.”

“I’m excited to see Owen Beck this afternoon.

He has been very exceptional in the games I have seen him play this year.

This serves as further evidence of the loans and chances available,

ranging from major English teams to playing options in Scotland.

“Maybe the two major players up here will be looking at this player, in my opinion.

He’s been an excellent player, but they could both use someone in that part of the pitch.

“Tony is correct; they have done a good job of recruiting, their offence is quite well-balanced,

they put in a lot of effort,

and they have had an excellent season thus far, finishing just outside the top six.

They have two games left to propel themselves into the top six.

Undoubtedly, Beck is an exceptional youthful talent, and Miller’s perspective is not implausible.

As previously indicated, should Liverpool return him,

he might potentially witness a further boost in his career in the coming month.

Given that Kostas Tsimikas and Andy Robertson are both sidelined due to injury,

a prompt Beck return from Dundee might be approved.

Although Beck still has six months left on his Liverpool contract,

Rangers would be free to speak with him and his representatives in January in order to discuss a contract extension.
