Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano reports that Crysenico Summerville of Leeds United is

being pursued by a number of teams, including Aston Villa.

The January transfer market will open in less than a week,

and the Villains may target a player from the Championship as their next addition.

Transfer expert Romano wrote on X,

the website that was once known as Twitter, saying:

“I understand that a few teams, including Aston Villa,

are keeping an eye on him.

Given his importance to Leeds,

they have no plans to sell him in January.

August saw Burnley’s £20 million bid rejected by #LUFC.”

With 22 appearances for the Whites this season, the 22-year-old has 11 goals and 6 assists,

supporting the Yorkshire team’s push for promotion.

Both Crystal Palace and Everton are rumoured to be admirers of Summerville,

who was the target of a £20 million summertime approach from recently promoted Burnley.

However, Leeds has ‘no interest’ of moving him,

which would make them difficult negotiators in any potential transfer.

In other news, there have been rumours of a possible departure from Birmingham City,

an inter-city rival, for former Aston Villa striker Scott Hogan.

In 2020, Hogan moved straight from Villa to Birmingham and played for Villa Park for three years,

however he did have loan stints at Stoke City and Sheffield United.

The 31-year-old was left out of the Blues’ matchday roster as they suffered a 3-1 loss to Stoke at home,

which spurred rumours about a possible transfer out of the Second City.

“That was purely a decision I made,”

BirminghamLive quoted manager Wayne Rooney as saying,

downplaying the claims.

“Tyler Roberts and Keshi Anderson were back on the team.

youthful Josh has performed well for the under-21 team,

so I decided to add him in place of Scott only to maintain the squad’s balance.

The Blues manager continued, “I’m not going to sit here and say that’s a decision which is made.”

“I decided to play Scott in today’s game.

We had very few defenders or midfielders on the bench and a large number of attacking players.

I was attempting to maintain the squad’s proper balance.”
