Warriors’ Stephen Curry Issues Strong Statement On Jonathan Kuminga
Warriors’ Stephen Curry Issues Strong Statement On Jonathan Kuminga Stephen Curry issued a strong statement on
Jonathan Kuminga after the Golden State Warriors lost to the Denver Nuggets on Christmas.
Curry said Kuminga gives the Warriors a huge boost on both sides of the ball.
“He gives us a huge boost,” Curry said of Kuminga after the Warriors-Nuggets game. “We talk about it a lot. He
applies pressure to the rim. Knocks down open shots. Defensively, he’s
recognizing his position and knowing how to guard both on and off the ball. It’s entertaining to watch him play at a
different speed. He bestows much onto us. We’re beginning to figure out where to pass the ball to him, how to attack,
and how to exploit his agility and one-on-one skills when needed. However, he can read and respond as well as play
that Warriors basketball. He gives us a lot, and he’s gotten much better at that too.
In 23 minutes against the Nuggets, Kuminga ended with 13 points, 5 rebounds, and 2 assists while shooting 4-of-8
from the field and 5-of-8 from the free-throw line. The swingman has started the previous 7 games for the Warriors.
Kuminga declared, “Yeah, I am a difference-maker,” following the Warriors’ defeat by the Nuggets. “I am certain that
I am. However, I’m not responsible for doing everything. How do I put it? I have no authority over my minutes. I
believe I’ve accomplished that. However, that last voice isn’t me. Even if I know how to score the basketball, it’s still
difficult. I am aware of how to pass. I am proficient in a variety of floor techniques. It all comes down to assembling
it, though. Putting everything together is just difficult with the individuals we have on the floor.
I’m attempting to determine how to handle that.
For the season, the Warriors are 15–15. In the Western Conference standings, they are ranked tenth. Curry scores
27.9 points, grabs 4.5 rebounds, and dishes out 4.4 assists per game, compared to Kuminga’s 12.5 points, 3.8
rebounds, and 1.2 assists average.
The Warriors have won five of their previous six games. On Thursday, when they play the Miami Heat,
they will want to get back in the win column.
