The Warriors have also been without Gary Payton II due to a torn calf muscle in addition to Green’s absence. Because

of this, head coach Steve Kerr has been forced to switch up lineups and rotations frequently, which has resulted in

the most recent lineup that includes a small youth movement.

Jonathan Kuminga is one of the players that has been added to the starting lineup in recent games. The 2021 NBA

Draft’s seventh-round selection, who is currently playing some of his greatest basketball of his young career,

seems to be finally finding his footing.

Kuminga is projecting a lot of confidence with it. He is aware that he still needs to improve greatly on the attacking

end of the ball, though. He said after the game that he is still learning how to find his areas

and know when to be aggressive.

Kuminga remarked, “But occasionally, I have to take that away to make sure my OGs get the ball.” That’s the point of

confusion. I occasionally exit a game not understanding what I did. And that makes me mentally unstable. “What do

they want me to do?” is how it feels. I’m capable of passing and doing many tasks.

One of the most crucial members of the Warriors is Kuminga. As the Big 3 of Draymond Green, Stephen Curry, and

Klay Thompson retire, his growth will be crucial to the team’s ability to contend. The passing of the torch appears to

have started already, as Kerr attempts to walk the fine line once more between starting over and competing

with his current group of seasoned veterans.

Finding success as a team would greatly depend on Kuminga achieving some of his enormous potential. Though he is

only beginning to show the squad what he can do as a two-way producer, he is making progress right now.
