Scott Brown makes confident ‘not a problem’ prediction ahead of Celtic v Rangers The legendary Brown of the Bhoys

was commentating on Tuesday, December 26, during Celtic’s 3-0 victory over Dundee on Sky Sports.

With the win, Celtic leads Rangers by five points despite having played two more games. All of this is building to this

Saturday’s historic Old Firm Derby at Celtic Park (30 December).

However, Brown believes that there will only be a single victor. When Sky Sports host Eilidh Barbour asked Brown to

make a prediction, he responded as quoted by the Glasgow Times on December 26: Celtic triumph.

Not an issue. How about you?

In response, Barbour said, “Scott, I’m just here to enjoy it.”

Who would have thought when Celtic defeated Rangers at Ibrox back in September that we would be in for

a derby as huge as this one to see out the New Year?

Rangers were in dire straits under Michael Beale, the squad looked completely devoid of confidence,

and the fanbase were despondent and baying for blood.

However, Beale left and Philippe Clement took over, and the atmosphere couldn’t be more different, could it?

victorious in the Viaplay Cup, advanced to the Europa League knockout stages,

and have a real chance of winning the Scottish Premiership.

To do the latter is still a huge challenge, everyone involved with Rangers knows that.

It doesn’t mean it can’t be done, though, and you get the sense there is a little overconfidence involved in the Celtic camp – particularly from former players like Brown.

Frankly, there is only one to make him eat his words and that is by turning up and winning on Saturday.

It won’t be easy, but it can be done.
