Smiling Kenny Miller has put a stop to any rumours that Brendan Rodgers will be let go from Celtic following a passionate on-air tirade against the manager.

The Parkhead manager is under fire after his team lost their last two games in the Scottish Premiership to Hearts and Kilmarnock. Rangers, who have played one fewer game than Philippe Clement’s team, have been able to cut the deficit to only two points at the top. Caller John on Clyde 1 Superscoreboard was experiencing terror as he tried to identify the problems that have dogged the team in their past two league games.

An irritated John said that the dressing room had already turned against Rodgers as Celtic prepared to face struggling Livingston at Parkhead on Sunday in an attempt to get back on track.

“There is something seriously wrong at Celtic,” he declared.

They have never dropped that many points in such a short period of time in my memory.

They aren’t playing for him,

in my opinion, and when you are openly criticising the players,

I believe you are nearing the end and there is no turning back.

He has to shoulder a lot of the blame, and I don’t think they are working for him.

You know, in this day and age, it never works well to start attacking your players,

and I believe Brendan’s time is almost over.”

Miller, a fan of the Rangers, first smirked at the phone as Hugh Keevins, another commentator, answered.

The would, however, support Rodgers for taking a jab at his underachieving

stars before making a derogatory parallel to Michael Beale’s disastrous time at Ibrox.

“I’m a wee bit more for that older school type mentality

where you need to be told if you’re not doing your job,”

Miller stated. If, on the other hand,

you believe you are getting away with something, you will do poorly.

If Celtic were discussing changing to be truthful with you and letting Brendan go,

I would be shocked; that wouldn’t be for me.

“In my opinion, these players are not terrible.

At this precise moment, something is not happening.

Have they grown bored, or are they not responding to anything, including the manager?

“The novelty wears off for athletes who play for the Rangers or Celtics sometimes.

It just doesn’t sit right with them to have to travel to

Ross County and play on plastic fields when you’re playing in front of 60,000 spectators in major games.

“There are many possible explanations, but in the end,

this is not a bad group of players.” When Michael Beale departed the Rangers,

I said this. guys are what they do,

and these Celtic guys right now are not poor players.

When they step over the white line,

they have to accept accountability for their actions.

“They were bullied at St Johnstone and in the second half against Kilmarnock,

as far as results go right now.

utterly intimidated, and despite having the advantage, they lost that match.

“I don’t think they would have scored last week against Hearts—

not to the level that a Celtic team at Celtic Park should be and the attacking football they want to be seeing.

They didn’t even look like scoring. They could have been playing now.”

If Brendan was in danger, I’d be shocked, but they have to return to winning ways tomorrow,

and I believe they will.
