Celtic ‘considering’ £3m midfielder transfer swoop as ex Rangers star ‘open’ to loan move
Celtic ‘considering’ £3m midfielder transfer swoop as ex Rangers star ‘open’ to loan move
This weekend marks the last round of Scottish Premiership games before the holidays.
On Saturday, Celtic takes on Livingston at Parkhead, and on Christmas Eve,
Rangers travels to Fir Park in Lanarkshire to play Motherwell.
After losing their last two league games, Brendan Rodgers’ team, the Hoops,
will want to snap out of their mini-slump by playing the bottom-of-the-table West Lothian team,
while Philippe Clement’s team, led by the Belgian,
will want to continue their remarkable unbeaten streak.
Celtic is ‘considering’ making a move for the midfielder at BK Hacken.
Romeo Amane, an offensive midfielder for BK Hacken,
has reportedly been “watched” by Celtic, who are “considering”
making a January transfer move, according to a report from Football Scotland.
The 20-year-old Ivorian is presently valued at £3 million by the Swedish team
after netting three goals and dishing out three assists so far this season.
He was included on the European Golden Boy award list for 2023 alongside Hoops midfielder Odin Thiago Holm.
Amane has been a constant in the Hacken lineup, starting every game of their Europa League season,
including an August qualifying encounter against Aberdeen.
The playmaker is said to have been viewed on tape by the Scottish champions scouting department,
who also reportedly witnessed him in live during a recent match against Qarabag of Azerbaijan.
The midfielder was earlier this year linked to Dutch powerhouse Ajax,
and now his name has been added to manager Brendan Rodgers’ shortlist of potential targets.
Former Rangers player ‘open’ to leaving on loan to Fenerbahce
When Süper Lig football resumed in midweek,
Ryan Kent’s post-Rangers troubles persisted in Turkey after
the winger was completely left out of Fenerbahce’s matchday squad.
Kent was noticeably absent from manager İsmail Kartal’s team for
Wednesday night’s thrilling seven-goal match against Kayerispor due to the country’s game suspension;
the player was not even on the substitutes’ bench.
After failing to establish himself as a consistent starter and unable to
regain the kind of form that saw him light up Ibrox during Steven Gerrard’s tenure,
the 27-year-old has had a difficult run of play.
The Gers are among the teams connected to a January loan exit as
they consider the possibility of reuniting with their former player.
Leeds and Sheffield United are two English teams that have reportedly expressed interest in Kent,
but Fenerbahce manager Kartal downplayed the importance of keeping the wide player off the pitch.
“It was necessary to make this decision,” he stated.
“We made a decision in this match,
but Kent won’t be excluded from the squad or allowed to participate in any upcoming games.
We have a very large roster, so perhaps in the upcoming weeks,
some surprise names won’t be in the squad.”
