Rangers might be in for a windfall in January as PSV anticipates wrapping up Malik Tillman’s loan transfer from Bayern Munich.

A sell-on clause from any future transfer was added since the Light Blues had the option to make the midfielder’s loan from the Bundesliga giants permanent, but the goalposts were later changed. After that, he went on loan to PSV with a buyout option once more, and the Dutch team plans to exercise that

With Gers’ chunk believed to be 10 per cent and Tillman poised for a £14million permanent switch to the Eredivisie, that would land the Ibrox side a further £1.4m on top of the £1m they received up front when they were told the US international would not be returning to them.

He said: “It is true there is an option to sign both Malik Tillman and Sergino Dest and there is an expectation we will do that with both of them.

“Fortunately, both of them have indicated they want to stay in Eindhoven

That is of course also very important. As a club, you can want anything, but a player is very important in this. You first discuss it with the player and his management.

But Malik and Sergino are doing great.” Rangers were hoping to extend Tillman’s loan to PSV permanently for around £5 million, but they were informed that Bayern had decided against it and would rather send him to PSV instead, with payment to the Ibrox men. Tillman has five goals and five assists for PSV, who are leading the Eredivisie and have advanced to the Champions League round of 16.
