Channing Frye asks where Kevin Durant ranks if Stephen Curry is top 5
Inquiring about Kevin Durant’s all-time ranking, former Cleveland Cavaliers big man Channing Frye wondered if
Golden State Warriors star guard Stephen Curry is regarded as one of the best players of all time.
It’s a difficult rating because, despite the fact that Curry and Durant shared two championships with Golden State,
Durant was voted the NBA Finals MVP both times.
State’s 2021–22 NBA Finals victory against the Boston Celtics—it’s reasonable to say that the two will always be in close proximity to one another.
Although Frye didn’t express his exact viewpoint, it seems like he wants to talk about it.
Curry is a four-time champion and two-time league MVP while Durant is a two-time champion and one-time league
MVP. Durant has more career points than Curry, but the Warriors guard has
the all-time 3-pointers made record and is widely considered to be the greatest shooter in the history of the sport.
Durant’s case to be above Curry in any all-time ranking is certainly hurt by the fact that Curry has won two titles
without Durant while the Phoenix Suns star has yet to win a title without Curry.
Earlier in his career, Durant traveled to the NBA Finals with the Oklahoma City Thunder, but he was defeated by the
Miami Heat, Dwyane Wade, Chris Bosh, and LeBron James.
In response to Frye’s discussion, Haralabos Voulgaris, the former director of quantitative research and development
for the Dallas Mavericks, added that Durant is “certainly” ranked lower than Curry overall.
On where Durant and Curry rank all-time, fans, players, and commentators everywhere are free to voice their
thoughts, most of which will be extremely different from one another.
The fact that both players still have time to leave their mark on the NBA is a plus.
Durant has an opportunity to show
that he can succeed elsewhere this season with the Suns, while Curry is still with the Warriors.
The backcourt of Phoenix now includes Bradley Beal and Devin Booker,
however Beal missed a significant portion of the 2023–24 season due to injury.
The great forward for the Suns has new teammates to play with.
