In the 2022 NBA Finals, the Warriors were familiar with the game plan against Jaylen Brown of the Boston Celtics,

and they appeared to apply it to the new Golden State players on Tuesday night.

Boston’s six-game winning streak was ended by Golden State, who defeated the C’s 132-126 in overtime.

Though Stephen Curry and Klay Thompson made the crucial plays that sealed the victory,

the Celtics bemoaned the wasted chances in overtime.

Trayce Jackson-Davis and other players made contributions to the Warriors as well.

With two of his three blocks coming against Brown, the rookie recorded a double-double with 10 points and 13

rebounds. With less than three minutes remaining in overtime, he made a big play

by swatting Brown’s attempt at a dunk. The Indiana product said after the game that he knew

he had a chance to catch the ball, which enthralled the Chase Center audience.

“I blocked a lot of shots. I felt good, especially since he had it in his left hand,” Jackson-Davis told reporters,

per NBC Sports Bay Area. “I thought I had a chance. I thought I timed it right.

At the end of the day, just out of instinct, went up and got the ball.”

Jackson-Davis used his left hand to take a stab at Brown’s well-known problems, whether he meant to or not.

Those are notoriously about his dribbling, but it seems like everyone on the Warriors

understood there was always a chance when Brown attacked with his left hand, especially in the absence of

Draymond Green, who was suspended indefinitely last week.

Regarding the block, Jackson-Davis remarked, “I did feel it, actually.” It did sag somewhat back.

All I can say is that I’m relieved to have made it onto “SportsCenter.”

The rookie spared himself the humiliation, but Brown and the Celtics decided to put the setback behind them

because they had to go to Golden 1 Center in Sacramento to play the Kings.
