Prior to the January transfer window, Aston Villa has their sights set on Kelechi Iheanacho of Leicester City

and Timo Werner of RB Leipzig, sources have told Football Insider.

The Midlands giants are keeping an eye on the two as they intensify their pursuit of a

forward signing for the upcoming season.

At RB Leipzig, Werner, 27, is a benchwarmer and is not currently in the starting lineup.

In the meantime, Iheanacho, 27, who has made only sporadic appearances for Leicester in recent weeks,

has an expiring contract at the end of this campaign.

January striker acquisitions are Villa’s first priority.

Manager Unai Emery is eager to bring in a player who can support Ollie Watkins and bolster the attack.

Watkins has made 24 appearances in all competitions so in this 2023–24 season,

tallying 14 goals and 8 assists.

This season, he has started every Premier League game;

Jhon Duran has not yet been given the opportunity to take the field in the English premier league.

Last month on November 14, Football Insider reported that Aston Villa intended

to let Duran go in January,

most likely on a loan.

It’s said that Emery has questioned the child’s attitude on several occasions and instructed him to

change drastically in order to comply with the tough standards of the Spaniard.
