The Daily Record reports that Vancouver Whitecaps of Major League Soccer are

interested in young Rangers player Adam Devine.

The Scottish newspaper said on Sunday, December 17,

that the Whitecaps are huge admirers of Devine and are looking for a right-back.

Academy Award winner Devine extended his contract with Ibrox until 2025 last year.

He has only appeared in one game this season,

which was in the Viaplay Cup victory over Morton in the first round,

therefore he might be drawn to a move away.

Loan cancellation makes logical.

Devine’s main issue is that he needs to remove captain James Tavernier from the team because,

well, he just starts when he is available.

Although he hasn’t played there this season, the 20-year-old is capable of playing on the opposite wing,

where he once appeared frequently under Michael Beale.

Rather, Devine is relegated to a supporting position at best,

even during the recent Europa League match between the Gers and Sparta Prague

when the team had a sort of left-back crisis.

Although Devine merely wants to play matches, patience should be shown because he is still very young.

The possibility exists that a loan exit will be approved in January because the Gers will not want to lose Devine indefinitely.

In the end, Tavernier will not be at Ibrox indefinitely, therefore the Gers must look ahead.

It might be prudent to maintain Devine on file in light of that.
