Reunited with the Rangers medical staff,

Alex Lowry sustained an injury while on loan at Hearts.

The 20-year-old came to the Jambos in the hopes of getting more playing time with the starting squad.

After tearing up the youth scene at Ibrox,

Lowry wanted a new challenge for the 2023–24 season.

Former Rangers striker Steven Naismith gave him an opportunity at Tynecastle.

He will be around until the end of the year,

and throughout his time there,

he has been given plenty of opportunities to play in a maroon jersey.

In 17 appearances, Lowry has mostly been used on the left side of midfield,

where he has provided two goals and five assists.

Alex Lowry is back with the Rangers.

On Friday, Naismith informed the media that Lowry will probably miss the Hornets game,

which the 20-year-old would have been incredibly eager to participate in.

The Edinburgh Evening News,

however, reports that Lowry is now again under the care of Rangers medical personnel,

who are collaborating with their Hearts counterparts to address the midfielder’s present injury.

Rangers supporters won’t have to worry about his progress at Tynecastle being significantly impeded just yet,

as the issue doesn’t seem to be a serious one.

The Rangers midfield injury situation right now may convince Philippe Clement to

bring Lowry back to Ibrox in January.

However, we believe Lowry would be better off staying put and continuing his growth

elsewhere because it will pay off in the long term.

Door opens for Rangers to sign ex-Man City target as he ‘will be sold’

Darragh MacAnthony, the chairman of Peterborough United,

has confirmed that defender Ronnie Edwards “will be sold” for the “right offer,”

opening the door for Rangers to rekindle their interest in the player.

It remains unclear, though, what Peterborough United considers to be the “right offer.”

The England U21 international Ronnie Edwards was recently touted as a £15 million talent,

drawing interest from Manchester City, Newcastle United, and Tottenham Hotspur,

three of the biggest teams in the Premier League.

However, as Edwards’ contract is set to expire in about 18 months,

Rangers may suddenly be a serious contender for his signature because his price has dropped enough.

Back in August, BBC Sport reported that Ibrox was interested in the towering center-half.

MacAnthony will not obstruct Edwards’ progress if Rangers make a proposal that Posh finds reasonable.

Rangers akin to Ronnie Edwards, a defender for Peterborough

According to MacAnthony,

“Ronnie and Jonno (striker Jonson Clarke-Harris) will be sold if the right offers come in,

” Peterborough Live reports.

“We have prepared Ronnie’s departure.

“We want to have our replacements in,

so we don’t want players to go at the conclusion of the window.

Ideally, all departures should take place within the first ten days of January,

so that everyone knows where we are and can make plans to settle in.

“When we are in League One or the bottom half of the Championship,

we are always susceptible. But we have to keep pushing ourselves.

All that has to be done is go forward.

“But losing anyone else would require an incredible offer.”
Defenders connected to the Ibrox swap

Prioritising a new central defender before the January transfer window seems to be Rangers’ intention.

The Glasgow giants have scouted Hammarby’s Nathaniel Adjei.

Rangers, who on Thursday night upset Real Betis in the Europa League,

might try to acquire Holgate, an Everton misfit.

Two years ago, the Southampton loanee was connected to the Monaco team of Philippe Clement.

Ahmed Hegazi is another possible candidate; he currently works in Saudi Arabia.
