Hendrie claims that everyone associated with Villa is “buzzing” and that his “only concern” is if it would push Unai Emery farther out of the store window. Hendrie made these remarks on Sky Sports News.

The Villans’ draw at Zrinjski Mostar guaranteed them a spot in the Europa Conference League round of sixteen.

With Nicolo Zaniolo’s first goal in claret and blue in the 61st minute, Villa took the lead.

John McGinn’s cross was slotted home by the Italian.

Villa had a tense end with to Matija Malekinusic’s curling late effort, but Emery’s

team managed to hold on and win Group E, one point ahead of Legia Warsaw.

Hendrie believes Villa has a strong chance to win the tournament hands-down and was also

anticipating the Villans’ performance in the Premier League going forward.

As stated on the Sky Sports website, “Villa through, they top the group and it has been a good campaign,” Hendrie.

“Everyone connected to Villa is giddy right now. If someone tries to steal Unai Emery away, that’s my sole concern!

“At Villa, returning to Europe and finishing in the top five was always the process and the long-term aim.

“They have a great chance, in my opinion, of winning the Europa Conference League.”

“Who knows where Villa might end up finishing [in the Premier League] if we can match

what they have in that forward line in January.”

Aston Villa flying high under Unai Emery

Villa have well and truly struck gold in bringing Emery to Villa Park.

The Spaniard has been a revelation for the claret and blue outfit, turning them into an exciting and winning unit.

While the vultures will probably come circling in wake of Emery’s heroics,

you’d like to think he’d want to finish the job and try to get Villa silverware first.

Up next for the Villans is Sunday’s Premier League trip to Brentford.
