Unai Emery and Moussa Diaby problem mooted behind the scenes at Aston Villa
Alan Hutton, a former full-back for Aston Villa, is joining us as our exclusive columnist. He will provide his opinions on the most talked-about topics at Villa Park every week.
Alan Hutton has predicted a potential problem behind the scenes at Aston Villa between Unai Emery and Moussa Diaby after he was once again left out of the side.
The Spaniard, who was again benched for the victory over Manchester City, acknowledged that his expensive summer acquisition had just been benched against Bournemouth rather than suffering an injury.
Hutton insisted that he would not drop the French flyer based on what he has seen and what he can offer, with Emery potentially demanding more than what he is getting so far.
“Obviously, he will know better,” he exclusively told Villa News.
“I would not drop him, what he gives you, he is outstanding.
“You see him in the European game, his goals, the ball through and him cutting in from the right to the left, he has that in abundance.
“Whenever he gets on the ball, you feel something is going to happen, maybe there is something else to it, maybe there is something more that the manager wants that he’s not doing.
“Therefore, he doesn’t start.”
In the 85th minute, Diaby replaced the game-winning Leon Bailey for Manchester City, leading his team to yet another convincing victory in front of their home supporters.
In other Aston Villa news, this central midfielder’s departure from Villa Park is “done,” with a permanent transfer agreement currently in place.
