Blackburn Rovers are getting ready for the January transfer window,

but for now there is uncertainty about just what Jon Dahl Tomasson will have at his disposal.

Maintaining hold of key players will be crucial as ever,

and the recent decision to lock down attacking midfielder Szmodics to

a new contract should deter suitor interest.

It has been suggested, however, that Rovers may not be finished in that regard.

Blackburn Rovers have more contract renewals “in the pipeline” before January,

according to the Lancashire Telegraph.

Although no players have been revealed,

it does indicate that there is money available for transfers,

even if they are limited to within the club in terms of contracts.

Some new contracts might go a long way towards stifling interest in some of Tomasson’s players,

but only time will tell who is eligible for a better offer.

Who has run contract?

Tyrhys Dolan and Sam Gallagher are the only two senior players on the current team

whose contracts expire in 2024.

Though negotiations for a new contract have been put on hold,

Dolan still has an option in his current agreement, and there is a strong likelihood that he will sign terms.

The two most prominent players with contract expiring in 2025 are Dom Hyam and Harry Pickering.

Promising players Dilan Markanday, Zak Gilsenan,

Pat Gamble, and others are also in the same position.

It will help provide those players some assurance over their futures and safeguard

Blackburn Rovers’ interests if futures are secured before the end of 2023 or in the New Year.
