Fulham is considering a move to sign the “roaming playmaker,” whose contract expires this month
Fulham is considering a move to sign the “roaming playmaker,” whose contract expires this month.
Although a report suggests that Fulham isn’t the only team interested
in signing an attractive superstar to the Premier League in January, they are.
The choices available to Marco Silva now
As it stands, Tyrese Francois, Tom Cairney, Harrison Reed,
and Sasa Lukic are the Cottagers’ natural alternatives in central midfield.
However, there’s a good chance that the latter two
might be leaving during the next transfer window.
At the end of the season,
the contracts of Cairney and Francois (the Fulham contracts) will have expired.
If they are not given the opportunity to extend their stay,
or if they choose not to sign an improved deal,
Marco Silva might have to look elsewhere for suitable replacements.
Fernando Beltran, who joined Chivas De Guadalajara in 2018 and
has made 184 senior games overall,
appears to be the target of the Craven Cottage team (Transfermarkt – Beltran statistics).
But according to the same site mentioned above,
the Mexico international’s contract expires on December 31st.
Since there are no intentions to sign another one,
the 25-year-old’s possible availability has made the hierarchy aware
that there might be a deal available.
Fernando Beltran move is being planned by Fulham
Fulham is interested in Beltran,
but they will have fierce competition from a number of
other prestigious teams who are
also looking to sign the gifted player in January,
according to 90min.
“Sources have confirmed to 90min that Fulham and Wolves of the Premier League,
along with Ajax and Feyenoord of the Netherlands Eredivisie,
are keeping a close eye on the Chivas de Guadalajara figure.
” Leicester City, an English Championship team,
also shown interest in Beltran.
Silva may find Beltran to be a true “playmaker”.
Although Beltran is a natural central midfielder,
he is more adept at attacking; since the season began,
he has scored four goals in 19 appearances in all competitions,
and he always tries to threaten the defence of the opposition.
According to FBRef’s statistics on Beltran,
the Mexico City native is now in the 92nd percentile for progressive carries,
indicating his desire to drive his team as high up the pitch as possible to
generate opportunities for himself and his teammates in the final third.
After entering the professional scene,
Silva’s target was used in six different positions on the grass,
including four in midfield and out wide on the left and right flanks.
This versatility makes him a valuable option to have in
the building in case of any unanticipated injuries.
Beltran is a “roaming playmaker,”
according to football talent evaluator Jacek Kulig.
Given all of his excellent attributes,
Beltran may be a very exciting addition to Fulham if he decides to sign in January.
