In the Premier League at the London Stadium today, West Ham and Crystal Palace tied 1-1.

In my opinion, this was a loss of two points.

Even though he seemed satisfied with the point at the end, Hammers manager

David Moyes would have been extremely irritated behind closed doors that his team didn’t win the match.

early in the second half after a really surprising mistake from Konstantinos

Mavropanos gave us perfect control of the game is just so aggravating.

With the exception of a subpar performance in defense against Brentford a few weeks back,

the 25-year-old has really been rather good for West Ham since joining the

London Stadium from Stuttgart for about £17 million during the summer transfer window.

But today’s incredibly terrible error by the Greece international cost us two points,

and following the game, it was evident that Moyes placed the blame squarely at the center-back’s feet.

Furthermore, as reported by WHUFC.com, Moyes had harsh words for Mavropanos without specifically mentioning him:

We have to be careful not to give in.However, we gave up and allowed in a terrible goal. After we move on, it occurs.

The Greek defender made a horrible mistake, but hopefully he learns from it.

We cannot afford to have players displaying such schoolboy lapses in concentration at this level,

if we are to fight for a top seven finish this season.

Mavropanos is a very good defender, I have absolutely no doubts about that.

However, he has to sharpen up quickly and start showing

more consistency if he is to succeed with West Ham, after his howler against Palace today.
