Steven Schumacher, the manager of Plymouth Argyle,

is wishing he could visit Goodison Park again before this weekend’s FA Cup draw.

Born and raised in Everton, Schumacher signed with the Blues at the age of eight.

He had 500 career games played in the Football League and National League as a professional,

despite never making an appearance for the first team.

The 39-year-old managed Argyle’s most recent League One title triumph,

which enabled them to get promoted to the English second division for the first time in thirteen years.

He is now determined to make an emotional return to Goodison ahead of Sunday’s FA Cup third-round draw,

especially because the team is almost ready to move into their new Bramley-Moore Dock stadium.

When asked by the Plymouth Herald who he wanted to draw on Sunday, the former player replied, “Everton away.”

“There might not be many opportunities to visit their stadium because they might be going out the following season.

“Neither as a player nor as a coach have I returned there to date.

Playing at the Old Lady before it closes would be my dream.”

Speaking generally about the draw, Schumacher stated: “We don’t have to go through the first two rounds,

which is a significant shift.

“We are currently in the right position to achieve everyone’s dream of winning a big tie against one of the big boys.”

It is exciting, and I hope we can have a little cup run in addition to a good draw.

If we could, it would be lovely to spend a day in Chelsea like we did a few years ago.

Sunday, December 3 is the day the FA Cup third-round draw is planned to occur.

The match between Eastleigh and League One team Reading in the second round will air live on ITV and ITV X.
