Transfer rumors linking David Turnbull of Celtic to AC Milan have been refuted.
David Turnbull will not be making a January transfer to AC Milan.
According to Italian reports, the Serie A powerhouses were keeping
a close eye on the Celtic midfield player.
We are aware that any links promoting a £7 million move are merely speculative and inaccurate.
The 24-year-old’s contract at Celtic Park expires in the summer.
He moved to Motherwell in 2020 and joined the club.
Given his contract situation and standing in Brendan Rodgers’ team,
the midfield player is reportedly weighing his options.
The Scotland international has played in 14 games this season thus far.
He has seven goals and has had seven since the beginning.
The claims about the connections between Turnbull and Milan came from
renowned Italian scout and middleman Michele Fratine.
As Brendan Rodgers works to assemble a team that can contend in European football,
Callum McGregor has pleaded with the Celtic board to “assist” him in January.
Since the summer, Rodgers has voiced his belief that his Celtic
team needs quality additions. On Tuesday night,
after watching his team lose 2-0 to Lazio at the Stadio Olimpico to end their
European campaign, he repeated his remarks.
Celtic entered the game without key players like Luis Palma,
Daizen Maeda, and Reo Hatate, and their backup group was unable to end the
team’s miserable run at the top of the league.
Now that Rodgers has called for more help, Celtics captain McGregor has backed him,
stating that he is confident the club’s board will support his manager in January.
According to McGregor, “We always need help.”
Every manager will tell you that he wants as many new players as possible if you ask him how many.
The players experience the same thing. As many talented
players as possible should come through the door. In training and games,
it constantly increases competition. The level then simply picks up speed.”
