Manchester United and Aston Villa reach a transfer agreement for Jadon Sancho
Jadon Sancho was essentially banished from the first team by manager Erik ten Hag following their public altercation,
but Manchester United will let him to go during the January transfer window. The manager of United said that the 23-year-old’s
“poor performances in training ” were the reason he was not selected for the Red Devils’ early September match against Arsenal.
Sancho then attacked Ten Hag on social media, saying that he was not telling the whole truth.
He wrote: “Please don’t believe everything you read! I will not allow people saying things that is completely untrue,
I’ve conducted myself in training very well this week. I believe there are other reasons for this matter that I won’t go into,
I’ve been a scapegoat for a long time which isn’t fair!“All I want to do is cheer for my team and play football with a grin on my face.
I appreciate the coaching staff’s decisions and am thankful to play with such amazing guys,
even though I know it’s a battle every week. No matter what, I’m going to keep fighting for this badge!
“ Ten Hag removed Sancho from the senior team after he failed to play a single minute. This caused the club to publish a statement in which they stated that Sancho was
“remaining on a personal training programme away from the first-team group, pending resolution of a squad discipline issue.”
The 23-year-old is rumoured to be reluctant to apologise for his actions,
despite reports that his teammates begged him in the locker room. However, as they plan a clear-out, United is now preparing for a significant squad shake-up in January and summer of next year.
Sancho will surely be among those permitted to depart, as the team works harder to adhere to the Premier League’s sustainability and profitability regulations following the summer’s fourteen permanent departures of first-team players.
Although there are reports circulating that Serie A and Turkish League teams are interested in signing the winger, in the months after the event,
there have been hints of a move to Villa Park in England, under the direction of Unai Emery.
A move to Villa would make more sense than a move to another traditional “Big Six” club like Tottenham,
who are also believed to be interested in the player, according to transfer analyst Dean Jones,
who spoke with GiveMeSport earlier this season. He asserted:
“I wouldn’t necessarily expect them to need to come back in for Jadon Sancho in a moment like that unless an easy loan or a really cheap deal opened up.
It doesn’t feel like the sort of one that Tottenham are going to be looking for in the January window, from what I can tell at this stage.”
“I think that Aston Villa is perhaps a little more realistic. That makes a lot of sense, as we know they’ll be searching again for a guy with that kind of skill.
“However, Jadon Sancho’s main concern will be whether he can stay in the Premier League or whether he must return overseas.
That, in my opinion, will be the first issue he must handle.”
