Neil Warnock claims to be a huge Rangers supporter and has the dream of managing the team in the future.

Reportedly in the running to replace Michael Beale is the experienced manager,

who owns a Guinness World Record for the most promotions to the English Premier League (four).

Warnock is not ruling out taking over as manager of the Gers at some point, and if given the opportunity,

he would also consider coaching at Celtic or another Scottish club.

He said, “I’ve always wanted to give Celtic and Rangers a shot,” to Sky Sports on November 21. “I adore the Rangers.

“I support the Rangers because Ally McCoist plays for them, and Alan Brazil, a die-hard Celtics supporter,

opposes me and him.

“I recall visiting Celtic during Gordon Strachan’s tenure, and he extended an invitation for me to visit his office. It was an amazing day.

“I mean, the fervour with which Rangers and Celtics fans…” My thoughts toward the Edinburgh clubs have always been the same.

It’s amusing to imagine Warnock in charge, and despite how simple it is to criticize him, the fans at every team he has led seem to like him.

In terms of promotions, the Englishman has the best track record, not just from the English Championship but also from lower levels.

But since there is so little margin for error, managing Rangers is a different animal.

Furthermore, Warnock’s 75th birthday is coming up in a few weeks, so it’s unlikely that he’ll ever be able to lead the Gers.

It would be entertaining to see him somewhere else in the Scottish Premiership,

maybe at a team struggling to survive toward the bottom of the standings.

Even better, this is undoubtedly Warnock’s chance to finally enjoy his retirement in a warm,

comfortable location with his much-discussed wife Sharon.

Warnock is deserving of respect, but managing Rangers is just not possible for him.
