Enzo Maresca took charge of the club

and according to reports, the manager intended to turn the Denmark international

into a center defender. The defender was not amused by this,

and it helped persuade him to temporarily transfer to Bologna.

“This summer at training camp, I became aware of the position change,

but I missed playing in the offensive line of play.

When the defender joined Leicester, Brendan Rodgers was the team’s manager.

He spent time at Copenhagen before moving to England. Regarding his choice to

relocate to Leicester, Kristiansen said, “It has been

difficult. I think my experience traveling overseas was the most difficult.

“Under duress, I joined a dysfunctional team whose coach was fired [in April].

As a young, recently acquired player, I found myself in a challenging situation where I had to step in and save the team.

“I was alone and thought for a quiet moment if it is really like this to be abroad.

It was hard to deal with, and it has left some scars on the soul.

It was definitely not what I was hoping for when I went out.

That’s why I was happy that this summer we could find a solution, so I was loaned out to Bologna.”

The Dane has made 10 appearances this season for the Serie A side,

who have an option to make his stay permanent. The Leicester owned player

remains hopeful that he can extend his stay at Bologna beyond this season.

“I have settled in very well at Bologna and hope that we will find a good solution next summer,” he added.
