Celine Boutier takes triumph at the LPGA Maybank Title following a mind blowing nine-hole
season finisher with Atthaya Thitikul.
In the wake of doing combating through eight openings and facing the hardship of an hour and a half
tempest delay, Boutier sank a 6-foot putt at the Kuala Lumpur Golf and Nation Club course
to secure her fourth title of the time and 6th in her profession.
The nine-opening season finisher tied the record for second-longest in LPGA Visit history.
The 29-year-old French woman featured her stretch with birdies on openings three, four and five and 11, 12, 13.
“I was simply attempting to give my all each hole and each time I had a valuable chance to have a season finisher,
and I feel like we were both exceptionally near winning a couple of times, and I feel like we just needed
to make a birdie, basically,” Boutier proceeded.
“I realized she won’t commit an error, so I needed to let it all out and allow myself the best opportunities for birdies.
I feel like she’s an astounding player, thus I feel like it was certainly harrowing, yet I simply feel extremely
glad to have hung on for that long.”
“I feel a lot more confident with my game now. I fought really hard on the playoff, and both of us are
hitting really great shots and it paid off. It just goes to someone who did it better.”
Rookie sensation Rose Zhang, who held a one-stroke lead heading into the last round, checked a 71 on Sunday to
wind up in a tie for third spot at 19 under with Thailand’s Jasmine Suwannapura (70).
“I felt like it was a truly extraordinary week for me. It’s been some time since I’ve been in conflict, in the main 10, and
I simply feel truly fortunate to be there,” Zhang said.
“I actually have parts to learn, parcels to enhance, yet I feel like it’s everything up from here. Truly delighted to
have everybody supporting me. It is very great to be out there and continue to play my game.”
