Proposed Trade Idea: Major DeMar DeRozan for the Golden State Warriors
If the Golden State Warriors want to be a contender for a title, they will need to make some significant adjustments at the trade deadline. Golden State is
now sitting two full games behind a play-in place, far from contention as it stands. Golden State now needs to look elsewhere as Pascal Siakam, one of the
Warriors’ primary trade targets, is no longer available. Zach Buckley of Bleacher Report recently suggested a fictitious trade that would send Chicago Bulls
star DeMar DeRozan to Golden State. The deal: Chris Paul, Moses Moody, a 2026 first-round selection (top-three protected), a 2026 second-round pick (via
ATL), and a 2028 second-round pick (via ATL) were exchanged for DeRozan and Jevon Carter by the Golden State Warriors.
In this fictitious trade, Chicago eventually turns into a rebuilding team and acquires Moody and three draft selections, while the Warriors acquire another
star in DeRozan. Chris Paul’s contract was about to expire, therefore his money would be used for financial planning, since the Bulls would probably buy
him out and offer him the chance to sign with a contender. The Warriors have been hesitant to part with any of its young players, including Jonathan
Kuminga and Moody, but they might be persuaded to do so if they receive a great player in exchange. Could DeRozan be that player? That’s who was
mentioned in this fictitious trade deal, even though it appears the Warriors need even more assistance than he could provide at this time.
