The midweek loss to Northern Ireland gave O’Riley his first cap for Denmark,

marking the beginning of what he hopes will be many appearances for Kasper Hjulmand’s team.

O’Riley hopes to watch the draw for the Euros group stage alongside his teammates,

as the Celtic team will most likely be in a hotel the day before

the draw is made in order to get ready for their match at St Johnstone the following day.

If Scotland and Denmark were to be taken out of the hat and placed

in the same section, he is confident that the teasing would commence immediately,

and he would be delighted to put himself to the test against his home country.

Though it’s still a long way off, O’Riley stated,

“There’s a chance Denmark will play Scotland at the Euros next summer.

We’ll see what happens. For now, it’s just about each player

doing their best for the club. I’m certainly focused on doing my best here for Celtic.

Before I can think about that stuff, though, it would be pretty cool to play against Scotland.

The draw is next Saturday, so maybe I’ll be watching the draw with the lads.

We’ll be practicing in the morning before our game on Sunday,

but there’s a good chance we’ll be around a TV watching who wins.”

O’Riley is hoping that his excellent performance with Celtic in the

Premiership and Champions League will increase his chances of being selected,

and that he has timed his debut on the international scene with Denmark just right for the tournament.

“It’s not the worst timing to get my first cap seven months before a major tournament,” he remarked.

“I’m considered for the upcoming camps. Between now and then,

I should have enough time to continue doing well and getting better.
