According to sources who spoke to Football Insider, MK Dons have agreed to sign goalkeeper Filip Marschall from Aston Villa.

The 20-year-old will sign a loan agreement with the Buckinghamshire club that will expire at the end of the 2023–24 season.

Marschall has spent much of this season on the bench for Unai Emery’s team, but he is now expected to move to League Two.

The stopper, who can play for both Poland and England, even participated for the whole ninety minutes in last month’s Europa

Conference League draw between Aston Villa and Zrinjski Mostar, ending in a 1-1 draw.

His additional playing time this season has been with Villa’s Under-21 squad in the EFL Trophy.

Marschall, who spent time at non-league Gateshead in the 2021–22 and 2022–23 seasons, is currently scheduled for his third senior loan.

For the National League team, he made 39 appearances overall, giving up 41 goals and maintaining 14 clean sheets.

The player, who was born in 2003, has a contract with Villa Park that runs until June 2027. He last extended it in 2022.

After playing a part in the team that defeated Liverpool’s Under-18 team 2-1 at Villa Park in the 2021 final, Marschall was awarded an

FA Youth Cup winners medal.

MK Dons, who are now ranked seventh in League Two, are aiming for a play-off spot and first-time promotion back to the third division.

Emiliano Martinez, the World Cup winner, starts in goal for Aston Villa, who are now third in the Premier League and have built an

improbable title bid this season.
