Before Rangers and Jinky Hilton play in the Scottish Cup, Jinky Hilton is hoping for more cup magic.

A vital player in the last round of the Scottish Cup, the forward from Dumbarton scored the game-winning goal in the penultimate minute of extra time in

an exciting 5-4 victory over Annan Athletic.

After entering the game in the 77th minute, Hilton assisted in setting up the goal that sent the match into extra time, scored the winning goal in that extra

time to advance them to the next round, and set up the glamorous draw against Rangers.

Since joining from Stranraer in the summer, the midfield player has been a welcome addition to Dumbarton, helping the Sons this season with three goals

and four assists.

And he said his side are worthy of their place in the next round after their last tie.

Speaking to the Lennox, Jinky said: “The gaffer’s mentioned it before, we deserve to be in the position we are on Saturday, going up 2-0 up at half-time and

they come back and probably looked like they were going to win it and we turned it around.

“It was a mental game, it felt like we were there all day but we’re buzzing for Saturday and looking forward to it.

He also told the Lennox what he believes is needed for a shock, continuing: “You need everything, it’ll need them to have a really bad day and us to have a

really good day but it’s football it’s 11v11 and hopefully we can cause an upset.”

Hilton has played against Rangers before at Stranraer with his current manager as he looks forward to the experience of playing them again: “I’m looking

forward to that, as you know they’ve played European football, they’ve got international players, it’ll be a tough game as we know how good they are. But

we’ve got good players as well.
