Rangers are now seeking to sign Philippe Clement, a forward in high demand.
In Philippe Clement’s first transfer window, Rangers are apparently looking to expand their attacking options following the loan departure of Sam Lammers and injuries to both Danilo and Kemar Roofe. According to reports, they are even going up against Celtic, the Old Firm rivals, in their search for a new frontman.

Even though Rangers has signed Fabio Silva from Wolverhampton Wanderers on loan this month, they still want to
add more new players to bolster Clement’s front line. Lawrence Shankland and Michy Batshuayi, who both would
have a lot to offer at Ibrox, have been linked to the Gers. The Premier League champion and former Chelsea striker
Batshuayi would benefit the younger Silva with his wealth of experience.
Shankland, however, has scored 13 goals in 21 games in the Scottish Premiership this season, which would definitely
give Clement’s team more firepower.
However, based on reports, the Gers might decide not to pursue one of those options anytime soon. Rangers are vying with Celtic, Nottingham Forest, Brentford, and Wolverhampton Wanderers for Tommy Conway, a player from Bristol City, according to Pete O’Rourke of Football Insider. When the in-demand 21-year-old scored the game-winning goal in Bristol’s FA Cup upset victory over West Ham United in his most recent appearance, a lot of people took notice.
Conway’s current contract at Ashton Gate expires in 18 months, so he could need to decide quickly. Ibrox supporters will be hoping that his Scottish connections influence his decision and that Rangers will eventually be able to sign a deal to acquire the young forward. Conway is undoubtedly someone to keep an eye on this month and during the summer transfer window, as several clubs are showing interest in him.
“Excellent” Conway might be the ideal addition to the Rangers.
Leading the line for Clement is the last thing the Rangers will want in the near future. Rather, they could make better use of a player with Conway’s potential and present ability to immediately contribute to the first team. Conway would provide the Gers with a player who is prepared to play at the required level, but who is still a long way from being the finished product and has the potential to be the best. It’s also hardly surprising that a lot of people are interested in the Bristol City man.
With eight goals in 22 appearances in all competitions this season, Conway’s stats show that he is a player on the rise.
The Scot’s abilities were also well-known to former boss Nigel Pearson, who gave the forward his senior debut in 2021 and was full of praise for him.
The Bristol Post quoted Pearson as saying: “Tommy Conway started today, and I thought he was excellent.” He was excellent. Alex Scott continued, “The coaching staff was unaware of these players’ identities, and the majority of the club’s staff had never heard of them before.”
It appears that Ibrox wants more firepower, and now there’s a new name on the list of possible prospective faces to lead the line. With two games remaining and eight points behind Scottish Premiership leaders Celtic, Clement might benefit greatly from any addition.
