Another Serie A team has joined the competition to sign an outcast from Celtic. Lagerbielke, Gustavus

Simply said, Gustaf Lagerbielke’s future at Celtic isn’t that bright, which makes him a wanted man in January.

The Swedish center back, who signed a long-term contract with IF Elfsborg in the summer, is almost certainly going to leave the team, most likely on loan.

Brendan Rodgers, the head coach of the Hoops, has frozen Lagerbielke out of the starting lineup, placing Stephen Welsh, Cameron Carter-Vickers, Liam Scales, and Maik Nawrocki ahead of him.

With just nine appearances for Celtic, it appears likely that the 23-year-old will play in Serie A for the remainder of the season.

The first teams to express interest in signing Lagerbielke on loan were Genoa and Lecce, though a report suggested the latter could find it difficult to secure funding.

With less than two weeks until the transfer market closes, the Daily Record reports that there is now a new contender for Lagerbielke, making the two previously listed clubs less likely to sign him.
