PL chief updates the public on the Everton takeover offer.
The Premier League have provided an update on Everton’s proposed takeover.
In September, 777 Partners reached an agreement to acquire Farhad Moshiri’s 94.1% stake in the company,
and they were supposed to take over by the end of the year.
However, the Premier League has not yet ratified the Miami-based investors despite
having completed regulatory procedures with the Football Association and Financial Conduct Authority.
In a Tuesday appearance before a Parliamentary select committee,
Richard Masters, the Chief Executive of the league,
provided an explanation for the absence of a definitive result on 777.
“Once we have finished the process, which regrettably takes a few weeks for some,
and a lot longer for others if we haven’t received satisfactory answers to the questions we have asked,”
he stated.
“It will take longer as this has been running for several weeks already.”
