CELTIC RECALL LOAN BHOY
There has been a cancellation of Adam Montgomery‘s season-long loan agreement with Fleetwood Town.
The left-back, who is 21 years old, is back at Celtic after missing time due to injury while playing for the English
third-tier team.
In July of last year, Montgomery—who has also had brief stints at St Johnstone and Aberdeen—signed a 12-month
contract to rejoin Hoops icon Scott Brown, who had taken over the team the summer before.
Montgomery has only made six appearances, the latest of which was in a 3-0 loss against Northampton at the
beginning of last month, indicating that the swap hasn’t worked.
Beginning in September, Brown was fired from his position, and last month, Lee Johnston, the former Hibs
manager, was fired too. Charlie Adam, a former Scotland international, is now the favorite.
“Fleetwood Town can confirm defender Adam Montgomery has been recalled by his parent club Celtic FC,” the club
said in a statement.
“A string of injuries interrupted Montgomery’s tenure on the Fylde Coast, limiting his playing time during his brief
stint with the League One team.”Adam’s efforts are much appreciated by the entire team at the club, and they wish
him the best of luck in his future endeavors to return north of the border and rejoin the Hoops.
Republic of Ireland, Celtic Bosun Lawal, an international center defender for the Under-21 team, will stay with the
team until the end of the campaign.
The 20-year-old defender, who is highly regarded, has played 26 games for Town.
