Rangers have sought to obtain “leverage” in the race for Hellas Verona defender Josh Doig by seeking to transfer
Ridvan Yilmaz in the other direction. That’s according to TEAMtalk, which said on Friday, January 12, on its
website that Doig is being considered by
a number of other clubs.
According to TEAMtalk, teams interested in signing the 21-year-old left-back, who has made 13 appearances for
Hellas Verona this season, including Leeds United, Marseille, Sassuolo, Atalanta, and Torino.
“Rangers, Leeds United and Marseille are all in a battle to try and sign Hellas Verona full-back Josh Doig in the
January transfer window, sources have told TEAMtalk. According to sources, the Scottish club is still in the
running, but they will have competition.
According to people close to the player, the Verona defender is expected to go during current transfer window
and be replaced by Rangers defender Ridvan Yilmaz, who is almost ready to travel to Italy to join his new team.
