Macdonald has also been asked by the Titans, Chargers, Panthers, and Commanders.

Macdonald had a great 2023 season with the Ravens, which made him one of the most attractive possibilities this cycle.

Baltimore was sixth in terms of yards allowed per game (301.4) and first in terms of points allowed (only 280).

Prior to the 2022 season, Macdonald, 36, was appointed as the team’s defensive coordinator.

He advanced from defensive assistant to defensive backs coach to linebackers coach between 2015 and 2018.

After that, in 2021, Macdonald moved to Michigan to work as defensive coordinator for Jim Harbaugh, the brother of John

Harbaugh, before coming back to the Ravens in 2022.

This offseason, Macdonald has become one of the most sought-after names after failing to elicit any interest from head

coaches the previous one.

The Falcons are one of the clubs presently pursuing Macdonald, along with the Titans, Chargers, Panthers, and Commanders,

as our Head Coaching Search Tracker indicates.

This season, the second-year Ravens DC led one of the best defences in the NFL; Baltimore ended up being the team with the most points scored.

Macdonald was also commended for his skill in handling the edge.

Even though Kyle Van Noy and Jadeveon Clowney joined the Ravens later in the season, they still finished with 18.5 sacks between them.

Macdonald joins a growing list of candidates for the open gig in Atlanta:

The Falcons are keeping onto one of their coordinators despite not having a head coach.

The Falcons prevented defensive coordinator Ryan Nielsen from interviewing for the position of defensive coordinator with

the Jaguars, according to Michael Rothstein of ESPN.

Having served as the Saints DC for the 2022 campaign, Nielsen assumed the same position in Atlanta for the 2023 campaign.

In the end, the Falcons defence had a successful resurgence, placing 11th in the NFL in yards allowed.
