Jaguars fire RB coach Bernie Parmalee

Jaguars fire Running backs coach Bernie Parmalee

On Monday, the Jaguars let go of defensive coordinator Mike Caldwell

and several other defensive coaching staff members, and on Tuesday,

they made more staff changes for head coach Doug Pederson.

Bernie Parmalee, the running backs coach, was fired.

Parmalee played three seasons with the Falcons,

two with the Raiders, and two with the Chiefs before joining the Jaguars in 2021.

Todd Washington,

the Jaguars’ assistant offensive line coach, will also leave after his contract expires.

“Since our season’s end,

I have made the difficult decision to relieve several members of the coaching staff –

on both the offensive and defensive sides of the ball —

of their duties,” Pederson stated in a statement.

“These coaches have worked incredibly hard over the past two seasons,

and I want to thank each of them.

In the end, I believed that in order for our football team to accomplish the things we are capable of,

change was required.”

The Jaguars dropped out of the playoffs after losing five of their last six games and finishing atop the AFC South.
