These are ten takeaways from the 119–112 triumph.
This was much closer than the Bulls and their supporters would have liked, thanks to Terry Rozier.

The Bulls defeated the Hornets 12–5 in overtime after outlasting Charlotte. Towards the end of regulation, the Bulls offence faltered and were mired in isolation, especially against DeMar DeRozan.

After the game, Billy Donovan told reporters in Charlotte believed his team’s performance improved throughout overtime.

“I felt that we moved the ball considerably better in overtime. I felt that our offensive play in overtime was far superior to what we did in regulation during the last two and a half to three minutes of the game.

Together, Nikola Vucevic and Andre Drummond scored 42 points and pulled down 25 rebounds as a centre duo.

The Bulls have defeated Charlotte in 11 of their 13 meetings since 2020.

That ranks as the Bulls’ second-highest loss total throughout that time frame. In the previous four seasons, only the Pistons have suffered more losses to the Bulls.

—Vucevic played the entire overtime period and was very active.

His final stats were 10 rebounds, 4 assists, and 21 points. Alex Caruso made a fantastic play on one of those dime plays during overtime.

Zach LaVine missed 17 games due to inflammation in his right foot and right shoulder pain, which forced him to make a decision during the game.

Donovan expressed his admiration for LaVine’s defence despite his lacklustre stat line of 9 points on 2 of 8 shooting, including 2 of 6 from three.

“If he can give us what he’s given us these past two games on the defensive end of the floor with that kind of effort and that kind of work, then you know what… he’ll find his rhythm offensively,” Donovan said.
