In light of Lionel Messi’s reunion, Aston Villa’s Philippe Coutinho has filed a new transfer request.
After a trying year in Qatar, Philippe Coutinho, a midfielder for Aston Villa, is apparently drawing attention from the Major League Soccer.
At Al-Duhail, the 31-year-old is currently on a season-long loan. At Villa Park, Coutinho found it difficult to replicate his Liverpool play and earn a spot in Unai Emery’s starting lineup.
He has only made six league starts since moving to Doha, and he has only played 419 minutes overall in the Qatar Stars League. The Spanish daily AS claims that he might leave the team due to his small contribution.
There are rumors that LA Galaxy and Inter Miami are interested in him. After spending years playing together at Barcelona, Coutinho may be returning to Miami to reunite with Lionel Messi.
It’s still unclear, though, if Villa will receive a call or if he will pursue another loan move.
Before, manager Unai Emery stated the following regarding the choice to loan Coutinho: “Philippe is a very good person and we always have to respect him as a person, first and foremost.” Second, he has demonstrated exceptionally high levels of play.
“He has not been consistent because of injuries and we decided with him speaking and agreeing with him to try that if something is good for him, and good for the club, and for the squad, we can let him leave.”Then he can discover his successful play as a player.”
