FRANCISCO: Following the NBA’s

lifting of his indefinite suspension,

Draymond Green returned to the

Warriors facility on Sunday. It can take

him a week or longer to build up before he can play again.

Coach Steve Kerr remarked, “He looks

good and he’s here.” “He’s happy to be

here,” He participated in the

walkthrough as we recently finished it. It’s good to have him back.

On December 14, the NBA suspended

Green indefinitely for striking Phoenix

Suns center Jusuf Nurkic in the face. The

NBA set requirements that Green had to

fulfill in order to get out of the

suspension. He ultimately missed 12

games, and on Sunday at Chase Center

against the Toronto Raptors, he will miss his 13th.

Green participated in a team walk-

through on Sunday, marking the first

occasion that he has reportedly done so

since his suspension. To return to action

in games, the 33-year-old will collaborate

with Rick Celebrini, director of sports

medicine and performance. There’s no

specific date scheduled for Green’s comeback.

“Every day, he’ll work with Rick and get

lots of shots up, scrimmage, and all that

stuff,” Kerr stated. “I don’t know when he’ll be back.”

Sitting at 17-18 heading into Sunday’s

game, the Warriors could Green’s

defensive savvy back in the rotation as

soon as possible. The team also needs

another ballhandler with Chris Paul out

anywhere between 4-to-6 weeks after he

undergoes hand surgery next week.

Green has played in 15 of the Warriors’

35 games, averaging 5.5 rebounds, 5.8

assists and 9.7 points per game shooting

42.9% from 3 on 2.8 attempts per game,

the most he’s taken since the 2017-18 season.

“Everybody is excited to see him,” Kerr

said. “It’s great to have him back. He’s

one of our leaders and he’s happy to be back. Good vibe in there.”
