Ty Bracey believes that Aston Villa ought to try to recruit Paulo Dybala, a forward from Roma, during the January transfer window.

Due to a release provision in his contract, clubs outside of Italy can recruit the Argentine international for under €13 million (£10.7 million) this month, according to a report published on the Daily Star’s website on January 1.

It further stated that the 30-year-old would be a “shrewd signing” for Villa as they attempt to contend for a Champions League spot under Unai Emery this year. The player has recorded four goals and six assists in 12 Serie A games this season.

As Dybala is available for a sum that isn’t too high for a player of his level during this window, Bracey thinks Dybala would be a “great addition” for the Villans.

“He’s a friend of the Emi Martinez family and has played at the highest level,” Bracey stated in an exclusive interview with Villa News. We need players of that calibre if we want to play football in the Champions League the next season.

“Although he can clearly play as a striker or on the right flank if necessary, he presently primarily fills the role of number 10 rather than centre forward.

He could definitely play on the left if necessary, but overall, I think he would be a fantastic acquisition.

“While the cost is low—€13 million (£10.7 million) is not a big amount of money for a player of that caliber—the salary may be a little bit excessive. Sign him up.”
