throughout the game. Utah didn’t help

itself either, giving up 26 fastbreak

points to Boston and making 18 mistakes.

That made Will Hardy, the new head

coach of the Jazz, and former Boston

assistant Kelly Olynyk, the center for the

Celtics, have a rough “welcome back.”

With a game-high 30 points, Jayson

Tatum spearheaded an overpowering

Celtics offense and made sure the Jazz

couldn’t rally back. After consecutive

double-digit scoring quarters in the

second and third, the 25-year-old took a

well-earned break in the fourth.

Until the very end, the reserve unit held

the fort and the lead. Sam Hauser scored

13 points, five of which came from the

bench, and drew five rebounds to finish with a plus-17 in 23 minutes.

Boston, now 17 games in at TD Garden, remains the only undefeated NBA team at home.

seven shot attempts while grabbing five rebounds.

— Utah’s Lauri Markkanen supplied the

WAGER WATCH

odds given by FanDuel Sportsbook to

shoot five or more 3-pointers by the

beginning of the fourth quarter. Tatum

would have paid out $530 total for a $100 wager.
